From the Gamma Pi By-Laws:
6.01.01 The standing committees of the Chapter shall be the Executive, Membership, Services, Finances and Activities.
6.01.02 Other committees may be appointed and dissolved by the president, as needed.
The Special Projects committee is a non-standing committee formed in the Fall of 2004 for the purpose of planning Gamma Pi's 50th Anniversary Celebration, which occured in the Spring of 2006, and for the reorganization and cataloging of the Gamma Pi Archives. The Special Projects committee has also been charged with hosting the first NCD western region Block meeting on February 9th, 2008. The Special Projects committee was disbanded after the Fall of 2007.
In the Fall of 2008, a new Chapter Services committee was formed to help differentiate between services done for the band deparment and services done for the chapter. It has been charged with picking up past tasks that the Special Project committee took on such as planning for Block meetings, Disctrict & National Convention bids, etc. It also gives a taste of each of the other four committees by working closely with them on tasks such as reordering/referbishing ritual and membership equipment, organizating chapter archives, working on convention displays, and other jobs that primarily focus on tasks that serve chapter.
