Description of Office

From the National Constitution:
6.210 The Treasurer shall control the receipts and disbursements of all monies of the chapter, and shall submit recommendations concerning the financial policies of the chapter as may be required. The Treasurer shall sign all checks for monies disbursed and shall prepare and be responsible for keeping records of all chapter finances.

From the Gamma Pi Bylaws:
5.02.04 The Treasurer shall keep accounts, deposit the organization’s funds, and make expenditures in a manner approved by the Business Office of Student Organizations and in a manner consistent with the National Constitution. The Treasurer shall prepare a budget subject to a majority vote for each fiscal year. The Treasurer shall be responsible for reconciling debts with the Beta Sigma chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at least once during term of office. The Treasurer shall also keep the Chapter up to date with a list of outstanding financial obligations and shall serve as a member of the Finances Committee. The Treasurer shall see that the Office of the Dean of Students' Event Planning Forms and Travel Forms shall be filled out whenever one is required. Information for these forms must be supplied to the Treasurer one week prior to the Office of the Dean of Students' deadline.
